The Dark Knight & Manipulation

So what does the Dark Knight Movie haver to do with Manipulation? Well, very simply, I have 4 kids and I was persuaded and influenced several weeks ago that I needed to be at the opening of The Dark Knight Movie. In case you don’t know, The Dark Knight is the new Batman movie starring Christian Bale and the Late Heath Ledger as “The Joker”…
My son Tommy has been jacked up about this movie ever since he know it was coming out. He is 19 and a college film student so he was very excited about this particular movie, as it is a historical picture. The Dark Knight is the first motion picture filmed in IMAX for broad distribution. Usually IMAX is limited to historical or educational films.
So, my son Tom, and my two daughters hatch a plan to get me to see The Dark Knight. Not only did they want opening night, they wanted the 12AM (Midnight showing). Not only did they want the midnight showing, they wanted “FULL IMAX”.

This meant we either had to drive to King of Prussia, PA or Philadelphia, PA. Well, my wife found out that THE FRANKLIN INSTITUTE was holding special IMAX showings in their dome for The Dark Knight….
So we got 5 tickets for the midnight showing, in full IMAX.
I think I’m a pretty good dad or are my kids just very persuasive? We had to drive an hour to get to Philadelphai from New Jersey, and we didn’t get back until almost 4AM!
Not only that, my son wanted to wait on line with all of the other Batman Geeks, so we waited in line for 3 hours until the movie started! I know, I must be nuts, but you know what? When my kids get older, they will remember the night we all went to see The Dark Knight in full IMAX at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. A once in a lifetime experience…
So, what can I say about the movie? It is an awesome movie. Heath Ledger should get nominated for Best Supporting Actor as he did one of the best acting jobs I have ever seen….

The movies is 2 1/2 hours long, and it the best Batman film to date. When you see it in IMAX, it is like being in an amusement park ride for 2 1/2 hours. Truly a spectacular way to see a full-on action movie. There are some scenes that take your breath away because of how they are filmed with the magic of the IMAX cameras…If you can go to an IMAX theater to see the movie, do yourself a favor and see it…
This just might be the biggest grossing movie of the summer (maybe ever).
If you like action and Batman, you will love this thrill ride. If you don’t you’ll love it because the movie is so well done, I don’t have anything bad to say about it….
